Job Description

We are seeking candidates for a Temporary Project Manager position with an organization in the public sector. 

Pay Rate: $48-$50 per hour

Length of Contract Assignment: 18-24 months

Job Summary: Oversee the planning, development and implementation of facility projects for organization based on its mission, vision and core values, programmatic needs, resources and long-range planning.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provides project management, budgetary oversight, facilities management and  leadership for operations and maintenance of facility
  • Manages and coordinates deliverables within a specific timeframe and funding to  ensure the goals or objectives are accomplished within specified requirements  and parameters
  • Leads multiple, cross-functional and cross-departmental projects  and initiatives
  • Identifies and manages project risks and communicates status to all  stakeholder levels
  • Develops quality improvement practices, processes, procedures and  policies
  • Participates in project meetings, collaborates with stakeholders and  manages team leads for critical sectors across various service providers,  agencies and offices to achieve  results
  • Establishes communication plans to provide reports to senior management  and ensure project team is meeting objectives, timelines and successful  project outcomes
  • Coordinates procurement and manages relationship with contractors and  service providers
  • Reviews and approves vendor payments and ensures the final product meets the requirements of contract documents and established standards
  • Manages the procurement of furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE)
  • Hires and supervises key personnel, team of landscaping, maintenance, housekeeping technicians, and medical, dental, mental and behavioral health services
  • Secures software and a case management system
  • Develops emergency management plan and safety protocols and ensures compliance with all regulatory services and security protocols 
  • Develops and conducts training
  • Coordinates transportation services for at-risk youth
  • Plans projects from start to finish, including identifying processes, deadlines and milestones
  • Creates long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines and allocating resources
  • Develops conceptual plans and budgets for facility projects to support fiscal decision-making
  • Coordinates with various groups and building committees to facilitate planning, budgeting and scheduling
  • Prepares requests for proposal and conducts all necessary meetings to facilitate hiring of contractors, consultants and professional services
  • Monitors and reports on all phases of project to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives
  • Coordinates with committees to develop recommendations for selection of professional services
  • Reviews contract plans and specifications for compliance with building codes and project requirements
  • Ensures effective, timely written and oral communication with consultants and internal customers during all phases of projects
  • Prepares reports and tracks performance and analyze the completion of key goals
  • Organizes and coordinates ground-breaking ceremony for new facility launch
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’ s Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
Experience: Seven (7) years of recent, relevant project management experience, with a progression in responsibility AND eligibility to sit for Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Knowledge of facilities planning, processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of estimating, budgeting, and scheduling practices
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards of practice
  • Knowledge of laws governing contracts and contracting
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles
  • Skills in reading and interpreting plans and specifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management and analytical skills
  • Ability to use specialized software for project management, collaboration and time management, including spreadsheet
