COVID-19 TEMP Position
$24.04 an hour
3 months assignment
Under broad supervision performs and/or oversees the development, implementation and monitoring of accounting activity. The Accountant will work in the Financial Management Division. This person is responsible for the financial interests of the department with COVID-19 transactions.
Responsible for reviewing the Grant Status Report,
Prepares rerates for claims on a monthly basis,
Prepares and analyzes variances for federal and state rates,
Prepares and analyzes expenditure report in order to monitor the budgeted expenditures on a monthly basis,
Review quarterly Federal Financial Reports for grants
Submission of COVID-19 expenditures in the Grants portal – quarterly and annually,
Reconciles various general ledger accounts and fund sources,
Prepares various manual journal vouchers,
Assist with special projects, as needed.
Master' s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university AND One year of professional accounting experience OR Bachelor' s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university AND Two years of professional accounting experience OR Bachelor' s degree in a business curriculum which included completion of introductory and intermediate accounting sequence from an accredited college or university AND Three years of professional accounting experience. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Access.
Agency' s preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates, who in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed below possess the following: Previous work in governmental accounting or working with federal grants.
