Policy Coordinator needed for a customer in Atlanta. 3-6 month assignment, $22.00 per hour.

Research and document system, community provider, and hospital policy needs regarding a range of financial, audit, human resources, and administrative topics, including system changes, statutory requirements, quality improvement issues, and best practices. Utilize clinical and administrative knowledge and background, as well as information from various other sources, to inform planning for policy development.  Collaborate with stakeholders to implement or improve policy applicable to internal and external stakeholders as required. 

POLICY MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  Manage and coordinate new and existing policies, ensuring that needed policies are developed and maintained for hospitals, community providers and staff.  The position holder will:

Work across all areas and facilitate workgroups in relation to all aspects of the development, review, revision, interpretation, and/or implementation of policies, standards, and guidelines.  

Attend to detail in terms of policy content, readability, meaning, and presentation.

Finalize all policies developed by subject matter experts after ensuring that stakeholders have had ample opportunity to review and comment.

Proof-read and ensure grammatical, procedural (and clinical if applicable) accuracy of policies that have been edited or newly created. 

GENERAL

The policy office works in an integrated manner, and staff work across the full range of enterprise business and topics.  The ability to communicate effectively face-to-face and in writing, manage meeting agendas and identify goals or tasks in meetings, and ability to implement systems to manage assignments and track progress are essential skills for the role.

MINIMUM TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Proficient keyboard and technical skill, including ability to touch-type at conversational speed.

Proficient in use of Microsoft software to least at an intermediate level.

IT adept and able to quickly learn computerized systems. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master' s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of related supervisory experience OR Bachelor' s degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience, One year of which in a supervisory/lead role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Advanced degree in Social Sciences, Health Administration or similar area

Excellent writing and proof-reading skills

Training delivery or group facilitation experience associated with an excellent communicator and ability to accurately paraphrase, summarize and convey critical aspects during workgroup discussions

Excellent active listening skills

Demonstrated ability to self-motivate, consistently reach targets and use initiative 

At least one year of experience working in mental health services with proven experience of collaborative working with senior clinical and administrative professionals

Demonstrated time management and planning ability 

Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, SharePoint)
